Thunderbird Family:

Hello, from Cedar City! I want to introduce myself and provide an update on Southern Utah Athletics. I am the Senior Associate Athletic Director over External Affairs for SUU Athletics. I was hired about six weeks ago to oversee multiple units and enhance our revenue generation + development teams. As a former T-Bird, I am thrilled to be back--I always had a feeling I'd come back home. Cedar City is a place I love, at an institution that has endless opportunities.

As you are aware, we are currently living in an unprecedented time with the COVID-19 crisis. Following the recommendations from the Big Sky Conference and the State of Utah, we have suspended all athletic events and associated activities until it becomes safe for us to resume them. This action includes the cancellation of all spring football practices that had not yet been completed.

Our immediate goal is to protect the health and safety of the campus community, the Cedar City community, and every student-athlete competing as a Thunderbird, as well as visiting team members. The COVID-19 situation changes daily, but we will do our best to keep you updated on its effects on SUU athletics.  We look forward to the time when our student-athletes can again represent our university on the field of play.

Our overall aim is to become one of the nation's leading student-athlete centered institutions. We are committed to improving the student-athlete experience and providing our supporters with teams that excel both athletically and in the classroom. We want you to be proud of your membership in the Thunderbird family.

We appreciate your continued support as an alum, former student-athlete, donor, and friend to the university. I've had multiple conversations with our Athletic Director, Debbie Corum, and President Scott Wyatt-- they also recognize and appreciate your support. Feel free to reach out to me or visit with any questions you may have.

Go T-Birds!
